Our Work in Uganda
Transforming the Islands of Lake Victoria
Our Purpose: To establish and strengthen Jesus’ Church on the Islands of Lake Victoria for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. We want to see strong, healthy, community transforming, missionary-sending congregations of disciples in every populated place on the lake.
Our Strategy: We are currently accomplishing this great goal through various means of ministry listed below. The following links will give more information on many of the ministry projects we're currently involved in.

Teaching
We’ve taught thousands of believers in rural churches in multiple countries during believers’ seminars, pastors’ conferences, weekend services, and in a women’s conference. Through these means, the Church in East Africa is growing stronger. We are looking to strengthen churches and pastors through teaching and instruction in the Word of God during these ongoing events.

Island Leadership School
![]() |
We’ve started a 16 week intensive Bible School for pastors and leaders on Lake Victoria’s Islands. These ministers have had little to no training due to the high cost of studies, time away from families, and the great distance between school and home on the islands. These local church leaders are responsible for the spiritual well being of all believers in the communities where they reside, and we’ve found the island churches in

shambles due to lack of instruction in the Word of God. We can train a church leader in 4 months for around $250, catapulting their ministry into a new place of maturity and stability in this difficult region. Each year, we plan to facilitate additional mobile schools on outer islands in Lake Victoria, training hundreds of indigenous leaders, representing thousands of believers on these islands.

Bible Distribution
We’ve purchased and distributed hundreds of Bibles in local Ugandan languages for the strengthening of the Church in Uganda. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, but for many Christians, the great cost of owning a Bible in their own heart language (a mere $9!) restricts them from growing in the knowledge of God. For many others, a personal/family Bible is one of the only ways to become literate in their mother tongue. We plan on getting thousands more copies of Scripture to villagers across Uganda.

Evangelism

Partnering with Evangelist Drake Kanaabo and other Ugandan ministers, we have preachedto millions throughout Uganda, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Kenya through evangelistic crusades, street ministry, school outreaches, a children’s crusade, IDP camp outreach, radio broadcasts, sports outreach, and a prison ministry. Through all these means, thousands have come to know Jesus as their Savior, and the Church in East Africa is growing. We don't plan on stopping, and in the years to come, we expect millions more to hear the transforming message of the cross!

Church Planting
![]() |
We’ve assisted two church planting teams in establishing local churches in unreached island villages. We've financed and built two church buildings on the islands--one brand new; the other had fallen down in strong winds. In the years to come, we desire to see churches planted in every unreached village on Lake Victoria. This includes training the leaders, preaching in evangelism, constructing and furnishing buildings,

supplying Bibles and other resources, and returning for further training, instruction, and oversight. All of this can be done for around $2,000 per plant. Right now we are developing our strategy for growing strong, healthy congregations that are more than a number or name, but vital members of the Body of Christ in this neglected corner of the world.

Orphans
We’ve been assisting Osanidde Village (a local orphanage on Bussi Island) with various needs of food, clothing, toys, school supplies, and channeling international resources and ministry to the children and staff who reside there. Many of our teams have commented on the life changing nature of the orphanage as they rub shoulders with 160 children who are madly in love with Jesus Christ.

These kids had been struggling through the rainy seasons by studying under trees without trained instructors, but in 2008 through generous donations from abroad, the leadership was able to put up a temporary structure and hire nine qualified teachers to further their educational process.
In 2009, through the blessing of 0% financing, they have constructed
a proper school campus to provide quality education and a future for these wonderful children. On into the future, we'd like to help this children's village to pay off their campus debt and help finance recurrent monthly expenses.

If you would like to assist these beautiful children in finishing their education, you can sign up to be one of our monthly school sponsors.

For the cost of a hamburger lunch ($8), you can send an orphan to school for a month. $96 pays for an entire school year, and $960 can educate an orphan for ten years--all the way through elementary school!
